Top Five Epic Anime Fight Scenes

Updated on January 22, 2012
Source

Anime fight scenes are awesome! They are epic! That's why I was compelled to write this hub and list the top five, in my opinion, best all time epic anime fight scenes. But in order to do this I had to lay down some limits and boundaries. I am focusing this list on animes with a definite ending, so no long 300 episode power up series like Naruto. (Sorry I tricked you.) With that many episodes it's hard to pick just one awesome fight scene, so in the very near future I will be doing a top five fight scene list on a specific anime, like Naruto. (Redemption!) And, also, for this list, I am defining fight scene as a one on one battle with little or no weapons such as guns. I had to allow the use of some weapons, however, because some of my favorite fight scenes do include swords and such. So, sit back and enjoy my list and the clips that I've included for your viewing pleasure.

5. Mugen and Jin

This one is classic! When an undisciplined, lone wolf type samurai and a very strict and disciplined ronin cross swords, you know you are in for a treat. This is the first fight between Mugen and Jin so it's epic because firsts often are, and because it gives you a taste of what you can expect in the series. Believe me, there are plenty of awesome fight scenes in Samurai Champloo. Okay, so this one is a little funny thanks to Mugen, but you get the idea.

4. Revy vs. Roberta

Black Lagoon is awesome for many reasons, but Revy is at the top of that list. She is feisty, to say the least. Of all her adversaries I would have to say that Roberta is the most unlikely. You can see from the clip that Roberta is just a nanny--but she's one hell of a fighter--and this is one hell of a fight scene. But anytime two girls cross fists it's interesting.

3. Ed Kills Greed

Oh, yes! I love, love, love Fullmetal Alchemist. I will admit that when Brotherhood came out, as much as I loved it, too, I was disappointed that Greed was this totally different character and Ed doesn't get to kill him. He enjoyed a different fate in Brotherhood, but for the purposes of this top five list, the fight between Ed and Greed at Dante's house is EPIC. I loved Greed from the start. He's such an obnoxious character, but that makes you love him all the more. And in the end, he isn't as greedy as he wants everyone to think he is. I guess from that aspect, the Greed from Brotherhood was the same. Well, grab some tissue and watch this. I apologize that I was not able to find a clip, only an AMV, but this shows the fight, just not Greed actually dying. But the song used in this AMV is from Brotherhood, and one of my faves. Enjoy.

2. Hei vs Wei

Darker than Black is one of my top five favorite animes of all time. It's such a unique story and the characters are so interesting. The fight scenes, of course, are awesome, too. In this scene Hei meets Wei for the first time, so, as I said before, you know this battle will be epic. They meet again, though, and that fight is epic as well, but here's their first encounter.

1. Tenjou Tenge!

The most epic of all fight scenes comes from a fighting anime, no less. This fight scene is also a first encounter of sorts--and it's over a girl. That always makes it more interesting. This fight scene is not only epic it is superb, fantastic, sugoii! I can go on and on. This anime has a lot of epic fight scenes, but this one is truly awesome. Sit back and watch. I dare you to disagree.
